How to increase your website's conversion rates

Oct 27, 2022

The internet marketplace is an increasingly competitive space and how you frame your business via your website can have a big impact on your conversion potential and your overall performance. The following are the top five strategies for increasing website conversion rates:

Display more photos of goods or services

How often have you evaluated a product in a store by picking it up? You probably do it for any new products that catch your eye. Naturally, shoppers cannot pick up goods like they would at a physical store through your website.

However, you are able to showcase your products through pictures and images, which are a close second. Text only won't cut it. Before making a purchasing decision, people want to be amazed, shocked, and have a clear insight into a product or service.

Undoubtedly, people do read text. However, text alone cannot persuade a buyer to buy. Offering pictures or photographs helps customers feel more at ease with your offering, which boosts conversion rates.

Do away with several calls to action

Users are most irritated when they encounter several CTA choices on a landing page and are unable to choose which one to utilise. A visitor will undoubtedly become confused about which option to select if you place all of the "Sign up for a free trial," "Watch a movie," and "Learn more" buttons/links side by side.

We assume that people are fully aware of their desires. But it's often the case that people prefer to be gently directed towards a potential solution rather than having to navigate a maze to do so.

Eliminate clutter.

It's tempting to try to fit as much information as possible on a page.

We designers want to communicate as much as we can about the thing we created because we are so in love with it. The thoughts of your potential visitors are different. They require room to stop and reflect.

This is made possible via whitespace. It gives the page a natural structure so that the eye may easily jump to the information it is looking for. This method of enhancing the usability of your landing pages is an excellent way to raise website conversion rates.

Adapt your navigation

How few designers actually plan navigation or only create it as an afterthought is shocking. A visitor must always be aware of where they are on the website and where they can go. User intent should be taken into account before designing the navigation; for instance, a category might be created for products that are offered together.

Create menus, suggestions, footers, and other website components with navigation in mind. This keeps visitors on your website longer and greatly increases their likelihood of converting.

Take advantage of social proof.

A certain technique to boost website conversion rate is through the use of social proof. On a landing page or website, many designers either present too little social evidence or introduce it too late.

I need to know whether a product has been tried and tested in order to decide whether to become a customer. Following an introduction with testimonials, case studies, success stories, logos of firms you have worked with, etc. makes a visitor want to know more; at this point is when you should provide more information.

This method of gaining customer confidence, together with the other conversion rate design advice mentioned above, is a significant step in raising your website's conversion rate. The key is to always consider the user journey and what might stop them from trusting or approving of your site. Is your website frustrating to use or is it too hard to read? Are you taking advantage of your glowing reviews and not overloading your customers with CTAs? Considering everything mentioned above will allow you to turn your website into a place far more welcoming to new customers and will lead to a far better conversion rate.
